So just what is testing?
Testing creates a way for you to get real results by creating two versions of your page (or content on it) and tracking the conversion rate.
Why is testing so important?
Let say I have a product that will create a sales pop-up on any website and I advertise that placing this pop-up on your site will increase sales by up to 20% or more.
Sounds pretty good doesn't it... but how can you really find out the exact conversion increase?
This is where split testing comes in. If my pop-up really provided the results that I stated it did then I should have some form of split testing so you can see it.
This can be acheived by displaying my sales pop-up on the page of every other visitor. This way you can keep track of exactly how many sales you received with and without the pop-up while everything else on the page remained the same.
